Jonathan works as a research assistant, teaching courses on interactive systems and XR development. He is also part of the Reality Stack team, which develops reusable and publicly available XR software components. Until 2024, he worked on the BMBF-funded HiAvA project, focusing on everyday participation in social VR applications - even with limited hardware.
He studied Human-Computer Systems (B.Sc.) and Human-Computer Interaction (M.Sc.) at the University of Würzburg. In his master thesis, he investigated handwritten text input on physically aligned and mid-air surfaces in virtual and augmented reality, highlighting the potential of handwriting for efficient and versatile text input in XR.
From June 2021 to April 2023, he worked as a student worker on the ViLeArn project at the chair of Human-Computer Interaction. In the summer of 2023, Jonathan joined the Ubiquitous Interaction research group at the University of Helsinki as a research intern supervised by Prof. Dr. Giulio Jacucci. He investigated virtual agents for health and safety advice and intervention in virtual reality, with a focus on harassment intervention in social virtual reality.
