The MOTIV team was invited by the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (short: bidt) for an interview on the topic of trust, knowledge and potentials on voice assistants

The MOTIV team was invited by the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt for short) for an interview on the topic of trust, knowledge and potential on voice assistants. In the interview, Prof. Dr. Carolin Wienrich and Prof. Dr. Andreas Hotho emphasized that there is still a lot of potential for the further development of voice assistants and that the use of these devices is still largely unexplored. "Very few people have specific knowledge about their voice assistant [...]. They point out that users develop an emotional attachment to their voice assistants and even entrust them with secrets, which is a potential privacy risk. We want to counteract this and promote a confident approach to technology," said Prof. Dr. Carolin Wienrich, one of the lead researchers on the MOTIV team.
