Profile:
Dr. Nicolas Ruth, born in 1986, studied musicology at Justus Liebig University Giessen from 2007 to 2010 and popular music and media (music, media, and economics) at the University of the Information Society in Paderborn from 2010 to 2012. From 2012 to 2019, he was a research assistant in the Media and Business Communication Department at Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg, where he earned his doctorate in 2018. He then served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Psychology at Goldsmiths College, University of London, from 2019 to 2021, funded by a Feodor Lynen Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. From 2021 to 2022, he was a substitute professor for systematic musicology at the University of Hamburg. Since 2022, he has been a professor of digital communication in the music and entertainment industry and heads the master's program of the same name at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Since October 2025, he has been part of the media and business communication team at the Institute for Human-Computer Media.
