Leon completed both his bachelor's and his master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Würzburg. He started working as a student worker at the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Systems in October 2014 and continued to work there after finishing his Master's degree as a PhD Student and Research Assistant since April 2017. Leon wrote his PhD thesis in the field of processing, exploring, and validating data with a focus on medical, academic, and manufacturing applications using a data warehouse, supervised by Prof. Frank Puppe.

Since March 2025 Leons has been working in the Psychology of Intelligent Interactive Systems group as a Senior Researcher leading the BAKI junior research group. His research continues the work of his PhD thesis by focusing on different ways of exploring and analysing multimodal data with an emphasis on knowledge systems and artificial intelligence as well as on data generation and simulation.
