Music streaming services provide us with comprehensive music catalogues at any time and any place. Algorithms ensure that more and more listeners come into contact with new music, while up-and-coming musicians try to place their songs in popular playlists for listeners. These examples illustrate how Spotify, Deezer and co. have influenced music production and music listening behaviour in many ways in recent times. The guest lecture will discuss how this technology is influencing our musical lives and could continue to do so in the future.
Nicolas Ruth has been invited by the Department of Media and Business Communication to give a lecture on 17 June 2025 in the course "Entertainment & Music" (Master's degree programme in Media Entertainment). The lecture is funded by study grants.
The lecture will be held in German.
